Our Story

Having been known as the Riverside Church network for many years we are changing our name to the River Churches. We are doing this in response to prophetic words given over the past two years. One of the significant words was 'Isn't it time that we get off the riverside and into the river?' Our heart is always to to be relevant in today’s world.  As time passes and a new generation continues to emerge, we are seeking to be flexible and to adjust to what God has for us. The overall vision has not changed; 'We will go to every town, city, village and country area where Jesus calls us to go'.   As we go our desire is for the river of God's love to flow through us releasing life and refreshing.

You can learn more of our history over the past 30 years 'here'.

We have forged stronger links with our friends in Antioch, Waco, formally becoming part of the Antioch movement, in July 2016. This will open many doors for us and will mean closer links with people we have been working with for many years. We are also  in relationship with Derek Brown from KC21 in Aldershot, who has provided wisdom and input since the early Nineties.

Isaiah 54 v2-3 has been, and is stil, very relevant to where we are and where we are going as the Lord enlarges our vision.   “Enlarge the place of your tent,  and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;  do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and your offspring will possess the nations and will people the desolate cities.
